Dear families and friends of HQ NPTT,
I want to take this opportunity to send out a big thank you to all of the family and friends of HQs, National Police Transition Team. The tremendous support you gave to us over the past year is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for all of the letters, cards, drawings, and care packages. You made our days brighter with all of the support you provided us.
We enclosed some pictures from our most recent visit to the School for Disabled Children in Baghdad. Orphans from the surrounding neighborhoods were also invited to share in this special day. As you can see from the photos, many of the beanie babies, soccer balls, school supplies, and other items you sent to us were distributed to these kids. You can't hear their laughs, but you can see from the smiles how happy these kids were to receive the gifts and spend some time with our team. Thanks so much for taking the time to prepare and send us all of those care packages.
This team hit the ground running in the summer of 2008 as we advised our National Police counterparts during combat operations in Diyala. Our last Soldier just returned from taking leave so we know we are close to redeploying now. In a few short weeks TEAM SHADOW will redeploy to Fort Riley, KS. While at Fort Riley we will out process from the 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, and we will all continue on to our next assignments. We will always have many great memories all the way back to when we first formed the team at Fort Riley in March 2008. Your support during our deployment has been nothing less than outstanding. We also enclosed a team photo that was taken at the "cross swords" in Baghdad. Thanks so much for everything!
Sincerely,
T. Williams
COL, Team Chief
